GREEN GOOD NEIGHBORS

Our Mission

Green Good Neighbors is a non-profit organization serving southern Summit County, providing area low income families with a monthly emergency food order, gently used clothing, and miscellaneous household items. Green Good Neighbors is a unit of Good Neighbors of Summit County which operates seven units in Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Green, Ellet, and Tallmadge. Good Neighbors was founded in 1957 by Laura McClure and Frances Watson who collected clothing in their basements to hand out to those in need. The Green Good Neighbors unit opened in 1968 and is fully staffed by volunteers providing assistance to an average of 200 families a month.
